Is a highly regarded NICU/Labour & Delivery nurse, emergency response unit nurse delegate with the Canadian Red Cross, certified yoga teacher instructor a snowboarder, and an exceptional cook.
A window of opportunity so small...
It's Remarkable We Even Connected
The short amount of time Joanna visited New York for us to connect was a small miracle itself. The right time the right place, it was serendipitous.And after three weeks of endless texts and long late night phone calls, we knew we needed to meet.
Are We Really Doing This?!
I mean yea it sounds like a fairy tale but to not only jump on a plane and meet someone for the first time, but also renting a car and roadtripping for a long weekend is quite a gamble…😂
Catch a 6AM Flight... Great Idea!
A long distance relationship was not something we were looking for but after only two weeks of talking everyday… we knew we needed to meet.
So we decided to both separately fly to Montreal and meet at the airport, then rent a car and drive to Quebec City.
The Fun Begins...
The Maid Of Honor
This was the first of many weddings together, and our “Third Date” weekend jam packed with so many of our favorite memories.
The BC Roadtrip
We spent weeks roadtripping through British Columbia as Joanna showed me so many of her favorite places from when she lived in Vancouver.
An Arizona Adventure
We spent a week escaping the cold winter weather of both Ontario and NYC. We hiked through Sedona to Devil’s Arch and ventured out to see Horseshoe Bend and Antelope Canyon.
Full Of Surprises
She did WHAT?!
Imagine walking through the arrivals door to see a giant poster of your half naked self held high for all to see…
That was hands down the most hilarious airport pickup sign I’ve ever seen!.
What's up with all the PENGUINS?!
Our very first conversation began with penguins, and since has become a fun part of who we are. So it makes sense why I’d fly with a penguin robe/housecoat on my flight, through the airport, to stand at passenger pickup.
The Best Birthday Present
An 8 hour drive just to see each other is not easy, and to make things even more challenging, Joanna would leave her shift at 7pm to drive into the night and I would meet her an hour outside NYC at 2AM to drive the rest of the way in.
I’ll never forget the one time she arrived dressed as my birthday gift.
A Christmas Surprise
Balancing the Holidays in two countries is always a challenge and with Joanna working Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and Boxing Day – it didn’t make sense for me to come and miss Christmas with my family…
…or so I convinced Joanna, who by the way is NEAR IMPOSSIBLE to coordinate surprises for. LOL.
The look on her face when she opened the door was complete and utter surprise.
